About Us
Having to stay within a reasonable distance from a major airport for work (and family) reasons, we have still been able to pursue our dream of raising cattle, miniature cattle, here in the Lakes and Prairies Region of Texas, just west of the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex, in Azle.
We always wanted to raise cattle, but found the standard breed much larger than we (and our land) were prepared to handle. In doing the research Kurt and I so often do about everything (we like to work smarter, not harder), we found many articles and websites about the mini cattle breeds; and, after talking to numerous wonderful people in the mini breed business we knew we had a match. We could handle and maintain more of the mini cattle on our property, have our children actively involved in local FFA and 4H programs and still pick up grandma from the airport and get her back to our home within an hour. The ultimate win / win situation for us.
Today we are proud members of the Hereford Association and the Miniature Hereford Breeders Association. All of our cattle are registered polled Herefords. Take a look at our Gallery and you will see our Grand Champion herd bull “Tommy”, a Homozygous polled 3 year old bull out of DuVal Farms, Silverton, OR. Don’t let his stocky size fool you. He is a very docile with a frame score of “1, classic”. This big boy enjoys a good scratch when you have the time. On the mini breed info page, you can find general information about miniature cattle as well as many of the facts we found extremely useful in making our decision. If you’ve already made your decision and you are looking for a miniature Hereford, take a look at our Sale Barn to see what we have available.
Whether you are looking to raise and sell your own beef, a pet or livestock for your children to work and show, you will find large acreage and equipment are no longer required. You and your family can enjoy miniature Herefords on your own property. If you still have questions or would like to see our mini Herefords, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
